Public Land Mobile Network

As Public Land Mobile Network ( PLMN ; German: Public Land Mobile Network ) is called public mobile networks with transmission towers that so not by satellite are (. Engl Mobile Satellite Systems ) such as Iridium and Globalstar . There is also the fixed network , also known as PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).

In connection with roaming , one speaks of VPLMN V (isited) PLMN (or VP for short) and H (ome) PLMN (or HP for short), whereby Visited refers to the provider in whose network one calls and Home means the provider with whom the used SIM card is registered.

Each PLMN is identified by a globally unique identifier made up of the components MCC (three-digit Mobile Country Code ) and MNC (two-digit or three-digit Mobile Network Code ). This PLMN is sometimes also referred to as PLMN for short.

Germany has the MCC 262. Vodafone has the MNC 02 in Germany. Vodafone Germany has the PLMN ID 26202.
