Mendoza comes from a simple family, which is rather rare among the Rejoneadors. Thanks to his extraordinary talent, he was still successful.

His debut was on October 12, 1985 in Pamplona . On August 18, 1989, Mendoza celebrated its Alternativa in Tafalla . Manuel Vidrié elevated him to the status of a professional matador. On May 20, 1995, he performed in Madrid . In the bullring of Nîmes , Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza fought in 19 corridas. There he got 40 ears and 5 tails.

As a gifted rider, he has been one of the most prominent Rejoneadors since 1994. He fought with the biggest Ferias, especially in France. On April 30, 1995, he triumphed in Seville with his legendary horse Cagancho .

In 2009, too, its supremacy was undisputed. In 63 corridas he received 128 ears and seven tails as an honor for the "matador" . For the fourth time in a row he led the Escalafón, the ranking of matadors.

In 2015 he received a Medalla de Oro al mérito en las Bellas Artes from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport.

He has been married to Miren Tardienta Araiz since 1994. The couple has three children Paula, Guillermo and Alba.
