Tiberius Claudius Marinus Pacatianus († 249 in the Roman province of Moesia [ Moesia ]) was the Roman counter-emperor from 248 to 249 .

Life

Pacatianus was one of several Roman soldiers who claimed the office of Roman emperor for themselves towards the end of the reign of Emperor Philip Arab . Its elevation falls between April 21, 248 and April 20, 249; his reign probably lasted from summer 248 to summer 249 in the area he controlled.

Philip sent the later Emperor Decius to negotiate with Pacatianus, but before the sent officer arrived at Pacatianus, he had already been murdered in Moesia by his own troops.

Only a few coins have survived from the reign of Pacatianus. His coins can fetch very high prices at auctions today.
