Pachuco
The Pachucos were a Mexican youth culture in the southern United States during the 1930s and 1940s .
The Pachucos distinguished themselves by a certain style of dress (" Zoot Suits ") and their own dialect ( Caló ) from both US American and Mexican society, and often came into conflict with the law. In Mexico the Pachucos became known in particular through the philosopher Octavio Paz , who devoted an investigation to the Pachucos in his main work The Labyrinth of Solitude .
The well-known Neoswing band Royal Crown Revue dedicated a song to the Pachucos with the title Hey Pachuco , which is performed by the band in the comedy The Mask .
