Paderborn country
The Paderborn region is generally synonymous with the Paderborn district . In particular, the term is used for tourism marketing by the Paderborner Land tourist office , for example in cycling and hiking tourism. It is also used occasionally to mark the area of the Paderborn district as a cultural sub-region of Westphalia .
In local and historical contexts, the Paderborn region is understood as a synonym for the ideal region of Hochstift Paderborn or the prince-bishopric of Paderborn , which extends beyond the Paderborn district and also includes most of today's neighboring Höxter district. Until well into the 20th century, the most important regional journal in the area was called Die Warte. Home magazine for the Paderborn region (today's title: Die warte. Home magazine for the Paderborn and Höxter districts ). At present, the old term Paderborner Land seems to have been taken over completely by Hochstift Paderborn in its originally broader meaning .
