Palace Green Library

The Palace Green Library is a library founded by Prince Bishop (1660) John Cosin in Durham in northern England . The buildings of Green Pallace , Durham Castle with the library and Durham Cathedral became World Heritage Sites in 2008 .

In 1669, John Cosin (1595–1672) founded the library. The University of Durham was established in 1832 and took over the library in 1833. In the course of time the library received numerous other important book collections as gifts. The Lindisfarne Gospels has been shown here since 2013 .
