The Palazzina Cinese , also called Casina Cinese , is a palace in Palermo . It is located on the southwest slope of Monte Pellegrino on the edge of the Parco della Favorita city ​​park .

The palace was built in 1798/1799 under the direction of Giuseppe Venanzio Marvuglia . His client was Ferdinand III.

When he had to evade French troops from Naples, he sought refuge in Palermo and had the palace built as a residence in exile for himself and his wife Maria Karolina .

From the entrance of the Parco della Favorita, an avenue leads to the palace. On both sides of the avenue, labyrinthine paths bordered by high hedges were laid out.

Marvuglia provided the three-story building with the Chinese style elements preferred at the time.

Inside the building there were u. a. a Turkish and a Chinese salon. The interiors were decorated with elaborate frescoes. a. by Giuseppe Velasco .

The folklore museum Museo Etnografico Siciliano Giuseppe Pitrè is located in one of the former farm buildings .
