Palmomental reflex

The palmomental reflex (syn. Radovici sign ) is a reflex that can occur in both healthy people and patients with various neurological diseases. The diagnostic value is controversial. It is triggered by vigorously brushing the ball of the thumb from proximal to distal . In sick patients, the chin muscles on the same side (ipsilateral) contract .

The reflex was described by Gheorghe Marinescu and A. Radovici in 1920 .
