Palm of the Human
The muscles of the thenar can be seen on the left ( radial ).

The thenar is a muscle bulge of the metacarpus located on the palm of the hand on the thumb side . The following thumb muscles are included: abductor pollicis brevis , flexor pollicis brevis , opponens pollicis and adductor pollicis muscles . The thenar forms the ball of the thumb, which, together with the ball of the little finger ( hypothenar ), forms a cushion in which a gripped object (with the thumb in opposition ) can rest.
