Panachord Records was a 1931 sub-label of the Warner-Brunswick Company .

History of the label

Panachord Records was founded in 1931 by Warner-Brunswick as a sub-label for the British and Australian markets; The sibling label for the American market was Melotone Records . The UK division was later taken over by Decca Records until it ceased operations in November 1939. The Panachord label specialized in hillbilly , country and western music ; In addition, some jazz recordings were released, including a. by musicians under pseudonyms like Jack Wynn and his Dallas Dandies (possibly the Original Memphis Five ) and Earl Jacksons's Musical Champions , behind which Chick Webb's band was hiding.
