Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 ( in the USA DMC-ZS3 ) is a digital camera from Panasonic Corporation released in March 2009 with a super zoom lens from Leica . At the time of its appearance, it was considered the world's smallest hybrid camera , because despite a zoom factor of 12 it was built relatively small for the time and offered a combination of image and video functions that was unique up to that time. Other special features of this camera were the 25 mm wide angle and the HD video recordings (1280 × 720 pixels) in the compact AVCHD -Lite format.
Furnishing
The TZ7 has a 12x zoom lens "Leica DC Vario-Elmar" developed and built by Leica with a focal length of f = 4.1–49.2 mm. A quadruple digital zoom can also be set. The minimum shutter speed is between 60 and 1/2000 seconds. Thanks to the 25 mm wide-angle lens, more content can be brought into a photo. There are three picture formats available, the "old" 4: 3 format, the 3: 2 format and the modern 16: 9 format.
The recording modes can be changed using a rotary knob on the top of the camera. In addition to the normal mode, the intelligent automatic mode, which calculates the recording situations individually, as well as a total of 27 scene modes, for example a portrait, a landscape, a night landscape or a fireworks mode, are available. Frequently used or popular scenes can also be saved in a special mode and thus quickly called up. A special text mode allows individual texts, plans or maps to be photographed with reduced resolution.
Intelligent face recognition has been improved in that the camera not only recognizes faces, but can also assign them to specific people. For example, if you take a picture of a face, you can save your name and date of birth and the next time you take a picture, the system immediately recognizes the face and can name it.
The captured images and videos can be viewed and even edited directly on the three-inch (7.6 cm) screen. So you can cut pictures and add text to them. The files can also be viewed on the PC using the supplied USB high-speed cable and the memory cards and on the television using the audio / video cable or the HDMI mini cable.
Video sequences can be recorded with up to 1280 × 720 pixels. This meets the requirements of the lowest high definition standard. The videos can be recorded both in MPEG format ( Motion JPEG ) and in the newly developed AVCHD-Lite format. The latter format is particularly suitable for HD recordings, as it compresses the data very well and quickly. Zooming is fully possible while filming. Noise reduction is effective up to ISO 400 .
Further functions are an optical image stabilizer and sound recordings ( stereo sound ).

Others
The Lumix DMC-TZ7 is the sister model of the Lumix DMC-TZ6, which was released at the same time, and the successor to the Lumix DMC-TZ5 (or Lumix DMC-TZ4) that was launched a year earlier. In contrast to these cameras, the TZ7 offers increased resolution, more zoom, and more functions or a revision of existing functions. The ( manufacturer's RRP ) was € 429, € 30 higher than that of the TZ5.
The Lumix DMC-TZ7 received good ratings in various tests.
The successor model is the Lumix DMC-TZ10 .
