The Bundeswehr has the self-propelled howitzer 2000 . The maximum shooting range is 30 km with standard ammunition and 56 km with extended range ammunition. However, due to the high production costs in Germany and the small number of items produced, it is considerably more expensive than the South Korean competitor model, the K9 Thunder .
