The Mechanized Brigade 11 (renamed by January 2018 / formerly Armored Brigade 11) is a mechanized Large Association of the army of the Swiss Army and approx includes 6,000 soldiers, NCOs and officers. Together with Mechanized Brigades 1 and 4, it has the main task of defending Switzerland and its people. The Mechanized Brigade 11 is led by Brigadier Benedikt Roos.
history
As part of Army 95 , Panzer Brigade 11 was re-formed together with Panzer Brigade 3 from the armored units of Mechanized Division 11 .
On January 1, 2004, Panzer Brigade 11 was transferred to Army XXI .
As of January 1, 2018, as part of the further development of the Army (WEA), the command of Panzer Brigade 11 was relocated from Winterthur to Chur and renamed to today's name Mechanized Brigade 11.
