Papenstrasse (Lüneburg)
The Papestraße is a street in Lueneburg .
location
The road runs from west to east. It begins in the west at the intersection of the streets Am Berge , Glockenstrasse and Am Sande and ends in the east at the intersection of Wandfärberstrasse , Scherenschleiferstrasse and Bei der St. Johanniskirche . The length of the narrow street is about 130 meters. The house numbering starts on the south side of the street in the west and runs back in a horseshoe shape on the north side. The first houses in the west of the street belong to the streets Am Sende and Am Berge. The street is signposted as a pedestrian zone.
history
The name is derived from vicar , they lived here. The name Papenstrasse only caught on after the Reformation. Citizens also lived here, such as Ratmann Schele in 1498.
