Pappardelle

Pappardelle are usually at least one centimeter wide Italian ribbon pasta . They are usually twisted together in the net and served as a "noodle nest" with a strong ragout .

The region of origin of the pappardelle is probably Tuscany , where they are served with ragouts such as ragù Cinghiale (with minced wild boar).

The singular form is pappardella . The origin of the term is unclear, possibly the term is derived from the Italian pappare "feed" or from the Provencal papard .
