Paralexia

The paralexia is a special language disorder in which written language is not processed correctly.

When reading , terms are confused, words originally in the text are recognized incorrectly (e.g. "mother" instead of "daughter"). The paralexy concerns the semantic assignment of words.

Paralexia can e.g. B. triggered by a brain damage (e.g. stroke ) and often occurs in connection with Wernicke aphasia .
