Paraplasm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term paraplasma ( Gr. Paraplasma = "structure") denotes deposits in the cytoplasm of cells. These are both reserve substances such as fats and carbohydrates , often starch , and metabolic waste products ( excretions )

The paraplasm, as a more undifferentiated plasma component, is also opposed to the deutoplasm ( Greek: deuto- = "the second"), which describes all inclusion bodies such as lipid droplets, yolk clods or pigment bodies .
