Parc Megalític de Roses
The Parc Megalític de Roses is located in the Empordà near the Catalan municipality of Roses (Spanish: Rosas) on the Costa Brava in Spain . The traces of the first Neolithic inhabitants date from around 4000 BC. In the park there are some dolmens and menhirs :
- the dolmen Creu d'en Cobertella (3000-2700 BC) is the largest in Catalonia . It was listed as a historical monument in 1964 and has a large gallery covered with a four-ton stone block.
- the dolmen Llit de la Generala (3200 BC)
- the dolmen del Cap de l'Home
- the Dolmen Rec de la Cuana (also Cona, 2500 BC)
- the stone grave Casa Cremada and the menhirs de la Casa Cremada are located on the Torre del Satre plateau. In the vicinity of the park are the cave dolmen de la Quarenta I and II and several caves.
