Parc de l'Arbre-Sec

The Parc de l'Arbre-Sec is a landscape park in Auxerre on the banks of the Yonne . It was laid out by Ferdinand Gauthier, who worked as a road keeper in Auxerre.

The park, which is designated as a bird sanctuary, is typical of the botanical gardens of the 19th century. The flowers department is inspired by the style of the landscape gardens by Édouard François André . There is a very nice botanical collection of trees and shrubs. The recreational part of the garden is grouped around the large lawn: the kindergarten, the Allée Catalpas, “l'Arbre Sec” and the landscaped hedge.

There is a part of the park that is specially designed for children to play. The entire facility is located near the water sports stadium and the Abbé-Deschamps stadium .
