Pardé coefficient

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pardé coefficient (also known as the coefficient of fluctuation) is used in hydrology to describe the drainage behavior of catchment areas over time. It is the quotient of the (long-term) mean monthly discharge and the (long-term) mean annual discharge. The values of the Pardé coefficient for a given month are generally between 0 and 3 in temperate climates.

The coefficient was named after the French hydrologist Maurice Pardé .
