Pare (own name Kipare , also called Asu , Chasu , Athu or Chathu ) is a Bantu language that is spoken by half a million people in Tanzania .
The speakers call themselves Pare ( Wapare ) and live in the Pare Mountains in the vicinity of Kilimanjaro . Most speak Swahili as a second language, some also speak English.
Pare belongs to the Guthrie zone G20 and is closely related to the Taveta .
