from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness ( en : Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness ) is an international consensus paper that was adopted on March 2, 2005 in Paris. It was also largely the result of the follow-up process to the Monterrey Consensus , summarizes the latest developments and findings and lays down essential basic requirements for effective development cooperation .

Cornerstones

  • Ownership : The partner countries have the lead and responsibility for every development process.
  • Alignment : Instead of establishing parallel institutions, partner-owned facilities or institutions are used or supported in the process.
  • Harmonization : Different institutions coordinate their efforts.
  • Results orientation : The declaration formulates twelve progress indicators and defines specific targets for the year 2010. The focus is on the results of development cooperation, and the defined goals enable an assessment independent of point of view.
  • Mutual accountability : donor and recipient countries inform themselves about their balance sheet and carry out mutual assessments.
