Parkhill Farm

The Park Hill Farm is a farmhouse near the Scottish city of Port Glasgow in Inverclyde . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B.

description

The elongated building is isolated on Greenock Road east of Port Glasgow not far from Finlaystone House . The year of construction is not recorded exactly, so that only the 18th century can be given as the construction period. The building probably used to house a restaurant. The masonry of the Harl- plastered house consists of quarry stone . The south-facing front of the three-story building is symmetrical. Due to the hillside location, the central entrance door is accessible via a bridge to the first floor. It ends with a segmented arch with an ornate keystone and combat window . The windows are provided with separate bezels and are arranged on three vertical axes. The building edges are set off with corner stones . Today a dog hotel is housed in the house.
