Parliament simulation

Parliamentary simulations are carried out at American high schools and British schools. Here, students can take an active role in a democratic learning world. It is a method of civic education .

The simulations are often referred to as “congress in action” or “ Model United Nations ”.

Congress in Action is a simulation of the congress . The participants use authentic materials to prepare for their role as parliamentarians. Every student is involved in a legislative process and has to draw up a position paper. With this basis she works in simulated committee meetings and debates.

This only works if a team of teachers prepares it well over a longer period of time. Committee meetings and debates take place over two to four hours each week. These sessions are accompanied reflectively in the classroom.

The aim is to clearly understand real political processes.
