General election in North Korea 1982

The 1982 parliamentary election in North Korea took place on February 28, 1982. In this election, all 615 members of the parliament of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Supreme People's Assembly , were re-elected. It was a sham election without the possibility to vote for opposition candidates or to reject the candidates of the Democratic Front's nomination for the reunification of the fatherland .

Election result

According to official figures, by noon all registered voters in the country except those who were not in the country had voted and all had approved the nomination.

At its first session of the seventh legislative period from April 5 to 7, 1982, the People's Assembly unanimously re-elected Kim II Sung as President of North Korea. Li Jong Ok was re-elected as Prime Minister and formed his 33-member Council of Ministers .
