Parliamentary election in Chad 2011

The parliamentary elections in Chad in 2011 took place on February 13 and 20 and on May 6, 2011. The winner was the ruling Patriotic Welfare Movement (Mouvement Patriotique du Salut, MPS), which received 117 seats. The second strongest party was the National Union for Democracy and Renewal (Union nationale pour la démocratie et le renouveau, UNDR) with 11 seats.

It was the first parliamentary election in Chad since 2002. The African Union and the European Union sent election observers , while that of the African Union was instructed by Mamadou Dagra from Niger . Opposition politicians criticized unfair election conditions.

The 2011 presidential election in Chad took place between ballots . The next election is expected to take place in 2019.
