The Parliament House in Darwin is the seat of the Parliament of the Australian Northern Territory .

history

Before the current parliament building was erected, the parliament of the federal territory was housed in various buildings such as the Post Office and the Chan Building.

On August 2, 1990, Nick Dondas , then Speaker of the Legislative Assembly , laid the foundation stone. After four years, the Parliament House was completed and on August 18, 1994 it was finally inaugurated by Bill Hayden , the then Governor General of Australia .
