Party of Free Citizens

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Free Citizens Party (PFB) was a short-lived conservative party in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .

The PFB was founded in 1975 by Emil Koschek , member of the CDU in the Bremen citizenship , as a spin-off from the CDU. Koschek saw the PFB as a right-wing conservative alternative to the CDU and sought proximity to the CSU and Franz Josef Strauss . In June 1975 a Bremen “CSU Circle of Friends” was established. Analogous to the PFB, there was also an attempt in other parts of Germany to establish a nationwide conservative fourth party alongside the CDU, SPD and FDP in Germany.

In September 1975 the PFB ran for the citizenship election in Bremen and clearly failed with 0.4% of the vote to enter the citizenship.

In 1979 the PFB took part in the founding of the Bremen Green List , which was the first Green Party to enter a state parliament in the 1979 elections.
