The Iran Novin Party or New Iran Party ( Persian حزب ایران نوین) was a party in the Persian Empire , founded in 1963 by Hassan Ali Mansur and his friends.

history

The party's original name was Progressive Union until 1965 . In the parliamentary elections in September 1963, the New Iran Party won the majority of seats (140 out of 200 in the Majles ) over the People's Party ( Mardom ). The former ruling party Melliun was replaced by the New Iran party of Prime Minister Hassan Ali Mansur .

Government posts were only given to members of Iran Novin . As a result, more and more parliamentarians switched from the People's Party to Iran Novin . For Mohammad Reza Shah , this development was positive. So it was possible for him to combine all political forces in one party.

The New Iran Party won the 1967 parliamentary elections with a majority of 180 out of 219 seats, and the 1971 elections in 1968 with 230 out of 268 seats. On March 2, 1975, the Shah announced that the current two-party system was out of date and not efficient enough for future political development. Therefore, in future there should only be one political party in which both government and opposition forces are represented. The Iran Novin was thereby united with the People's Party to form the Rastachiz Party.
