Tunisian Communist Party
The Tunisian Communist Party ( French Parti communiste tunisien , Arabic الحزب الشيوعي التونسي, DMG al-Ḥizb aš-Šuyūʿī at-Tūnisī ; Abbreviation PCT ) was a communist political party in Tunisia . Your party color was red.
The PCT was founded in 1934 when the Tunisian Federation of the French Communist Party was transformed into an independent organization. The Tunisian Communist Party was banned by the Vichy regime in 1939, but the party was allowed to operate legally again in 1943. From 1946 Mohamed Ennafaa was the general secretary of the Tunisian Communist Party. He held this office until 1981, when Mohamed Harmel took over the management. However, the party was banned again in 1962 and only allowed again in 1981. On April 23, 1993, the PCT was dissolved and transformed into the Ettajdid movement, a non-communist left-wing party.
