Karl Heinemeyer

Karl Heinemeyer (born May 7, 1940 in Hamburg ) is a German historian and archivist .

The son of the historian Walter Heinemeyer received his doctorate in 1969 with the work Königshöfe and Königsgut in the Kassel area at the University of Marburg , where he was supervised by Walter Schlesinger , and has been a lecturer there since 1972, after his habilitation in 1978 as a private lecturer and temporary professor (1979/80) . From 1982 he was employed at the Marburg State Archives , since 1985 as archivist. Heinemeyer has been teaching as a professor with a focus on medieval history at the University of Erfurt since 1993 , even after he retired in 2005. He has been a member of the Historical Commission for Hesse since 1971 .

He was governor of the Rotary district in 1950.
