The Partido Humanista de Chile , in German Humanist Party of Chile , was formed in 1984 under the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet . It is one of the world's active humanist parties .
Career
In 1988 she placed one of the three election observer lines to oversee the referendum against Pinochet. In 1989 she co-founded the Humanist International in Florence and in the same year sends Laura Rodríguez, the first representative of the humanists to parliament.
The HP Chiles was a co-founder of the so-called Concertación , which she left in 1993 because of the neoliberal course of the Concertacion criticized by the HP and thus gave up all political offices.
In 2003, the HP Chiles called on all left-wing groups to form a broad social and political movement that should include all left-wing and progressive forces. On December 13, 2003, more than 30 organizations signed the founding document of the Poder Democratico y Social (PODEMOS), including the Communist Party of Chile (PC), MIR Chile , the Izquierda Cristiana de Chile (IC) and the Communist Party - Proletarian Action (PC-PA).
In 2004, the HP received 3.03% of the vote in the local elections and moved into the local parliaments with 40 members. Together with the other parties, the Juntos Podemos alliance received around 10% of the vote, making it the third strongest political force in Chile.
In the parliamentary and presidential elections in 2006 the alliance achieved 7.4%, but due to the binomial electoral system does not send any representatives to parliament. The alliance's presidential candidate, Tomás Hirsch , received 5.4% of the vote.
In November 2017, the party won 4 seats in the Chilean National Congress within the alliance Frente Amplio (Chile) , among others Tomás Hirsch was elected. The entire left alliance reached 21 seats.
