Pashai is a language spoken in Afghanistan . It belongs to the group of Dardic languages within the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-Iranian subgroup of the Indo-European language family .

Pashai is spoken in several valleys north of the Kabul River and is divided into a number of mutually incomprehensible dialects. The number of speakers is estimated at around 100,000.
