Pasinger Christkindl market

The Pasinger Christkindl-Markt is a Christmas market that traditionally takes place on all Advent weekends on the forecourt of the Pasing parish church Maria Schutz . With over 20 mainly handicraft market stalls and a cultural program (including a Perchten run ), it is one of the largest Christmas markets in the west of Munich. The raffle for the main prizes of the charitable tombola traditionally takes place on the fourth Advent. This was initially organized by the Lions Club Blutenburg and has been carried out by the Rotaract Club Germering since 2009 .

In 1983 the market was opened on the initiative of some Pasinger business people, personalities and the Pasinger Mariensäule e. V. founded. On December 9, 1983, the 1st Pasinger Christkindl-Markt was opened by the Munich City Council. D. Thomas Schmatz, the Pasing pastor Monsignor Georg Schuster and the Mayor of Munich Erich Kiesl .

In 2000, the numerous visitors to the Christkindlmarkt experienced Ludwig Thomas's performance of “Holy Night”, which was read by Toni Berger in the Maria Schutz parish church and broadcast over loudspeakers on the market square.
