The patent gazette is the publication organ of the Austrian patent office . According to Section 79 of the Patent Act , regulations issued by the President of the Patent Office must be published in the Patent Gazette. The patent gazette appears on the 15th day of each month and consists of two parts. In addition to the patent gazette, the patent office also publishes other monthly announcement gazettes with the trademark, model and utility model gazette.

Patent Bulletin I

The first part comprises announcements of a general nature such as changes in the law , international agreements and ordinances and other general orders from the President (division of responsibilities). Patent Bulletin I also contains notifications from the Supreme Patent and Trademark Senate and the Chamber of Patent Attorneys as well as decisions by the patent authorities in matters of patents, utility models, trademarks, designs and protection certificates.

Patent Bulletin II

The second part of the patent bulletin contains a list of published and granted patents. All Austrian patent applications and patents are published on the fifteenth day of the respective month. The second part of the patent gazette also contains publications on:

  • the issuing of protection certificates
  • Changes in the identity of the patent owner
  • The approval of reinstatements
  • Appointments of inventors
  • the expiry of patents
  • Annulments
  • Changes to the register, such as name changes or company changes

Patent Bulletin II contains the current list of patent attorneys.
