In Pathfinder (OV-098) is a 68-ton model ( mock-up ) of the Space Shuttle made of steel. It was built by NASA in 1977 to test the handling and construction of functioning space shuttles.

Pathfinder was later Teledyne Brown Engineering of Huntsville ( Alabama ) for the "Great Space Shuttle Exposition" in Tokyo ( Japan rebuilt) to a real space shuttle to more accurately match. After being exhibited there for a year, it was brought back to the United States and has been on display at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville ever since .
