Patrick Heiniger

Patrick Heiniger (born August 26, 1950 in Argentina ; † March 3, 2013 in Monte Carlo ) was a Swiss entrepreneur. He was General Director and Delegate of the Board of Directors at Rolex , a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer.

Life

Heiniger studied law. In 1981 he and two fellow students opened a law firm in Geneva with a focus on intellectual property law.

In 1987 he was brought to Rolex by his father André Heiniger to be responsible for marketing and sales, and in 1992 he was appointed General Manager. In 1997, succeeding his father, he became delegate of the board of directors. Under his leadership, the Rolex Group was able to acquire the watch manufacturer Manufacture des Montres Rolex SA . He worked in this position until December 2008 when he suddenly had to leave his post to Bruno Meier. Rolex announced personal reasons for his dismissal after 16 years in office.
