A flap is the original name given to the cuffs created by turning the side slit sleeves . In a broader sense, all pieces of fabric that are placed on items of clothing, often in a different color than the basic color, are referred to as flaps, e.g. B. collar , shoulder or sleeve flaps. The flap over the opening of a coat , jacket or similar pocket is also called a flap, the corresponding pocket is called a flap pocket .
