The Paul Ferd company. Peddinghaus GmbH is a machine tool manufacturer based in Gevelsberg ; it has been a 100% subsidiary of the Peddinghaus Corporation from Bradley / Illinois (USA) since the late 1990s .
history
The company was founded in 1903 by Paul Ferdinand Peddinghaus. In the beginning there was the development and manufacture of vices . Hand sheet metal shears (1904), hand punching machines and profile steel shears (1905) were soon produced.
In the 1970s, the company developed a CNC -controlled girder drilling system and established a leading position in the world market for CNC steel construction machines.
In the 1970s, the company still had over 1,000 employees, but economic decline began in the mid-1980s. The company was known for its social benefits, in particular company apartments , company canteen, company choir, tennis club, etc.
In 1996 the bankruptcy and liquidation of the company followed.
At the end of the 1990s, the company was rebuilt by Julia C. "Cilla" and C. Georg "Anton" Peddinghaus as a subsidiary of the Peddinghaus Corporation from Bradley / Illinois, where the headquarters of the group of companies (managed by C. Georg "Anton "Peddinghaus" is located and the machine development and manufacture takes place. In Gevelsberg are at Paul Ferd. Peddinghaus GmbH employs around 18 people (as of 2013).
Today the Peddinghaus Corporation, with service branches in Germany, Great Britain, Spain and Poland, is one of the best-known manufacturers of machine tools and CNC systems for steel construction.
