Paul McAuliffe

Paul McAuliffe (* in Finglas ) is an Irish politician ( Fianna Fáil ) and was the 350th Lord Mayor of Dublin from June 2019 to February 2020 .

Life

McAuliffe was born and raised in the Dublin suburb of Finglas. He attended De La Salle Primary School , Beneavin College Secondary School and the National College of Ireland .

In 2009 he was elected to the Dublin City Council for the first time , to which he was a member until his election as Lord Mayor. In 2016 he ran for his party in the elections for Dáil Eireann in the Dublin North-West constituency , but was unable to win a seat . On June 7, 2019, he was elected Lord Mayor of Dublin for one year , replacing Nial Ring . After his election to the Dáil Éireann on February 8, 2020, he resigned this office and his mandate as city council. His successor as Lord Mayor of Dublin was his party colleague and former deputy mayor (on February 24, 2020 Deputy Lord Mayor ) Tom Brabazon selected.

McAuliffe is married with two children, a daughter and a son.
