Paul von Rautenberg-Garczynski

Paul von Rautenberg-Garczynski (* 1857; † 20th century) was a world traveler and author of travel reports and came from the Pomeranian noble family von Rautenberg-Garczynski . On July 3, 1900, the East Asian Expeditionary Corps was launched in Germany. In August 1900, further volunteers were selected to support the East Asian Expeditionary Corps, among them Paul von Rautenberg-Garczynski, at that time Rittmeister in the Westphalian Uhlan Regiment No. 5 . As part of this assignment, he gained his first personal experiences with foreign cultures, which he deepened in his subsequent trips.
