The archaeological site of Paule-Saint-Symphorien is located in the municipality of Paule in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany . A fortified settlement from the La Tène period was discovered during road construction in 1988 . The excavations lasted from 1988 to 2001.

The settlement originated in the 5th century BC. As a fortified farm and developed until the 1st century BC. To a fortress with earth walls, trenches and watchtowers. After the Roman conquest, the fortifications were destroyed, the last buildings were abandoned at the beginning of the 1st century AD.

The most famous finds from the fortress are four statues made of dark green metahornblendite from the 2nd century BC. The largest of the statues represents a man who holds a stringed instrument in his hands and wears a torc around his neck.
