Paulette (tax)

Paulette (French, Droit annuel ) was a levy established in France on December 12, 1604 at the suggestion of the French financier Charles Paulet and named after him, which the king drew annually from the income of all civil servants in the amount of 1/60 of this income . The Paulette, through which the civil servants secured the inheritance of their positions, was abolished by the French Revolution .
