Pavel Řezáč

Pavel Řezáč is a Czech diplomat.

Career

Řezáč graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague in 1985 and entered the consular department of the Czechoslovak Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1988 he became Third Secretary and Consul at the Czechoslovak Embassy in Moscow ( Soviet Union ) and worked from 1991 to 1992 in the Foreign Ministry in the Consular Department. With the break-up of Czechoslovakia, Řezáč was appointed acting consul general at the consulate general of the Czech Republic in Istanbul ( Turkey ) on January 1, 1993 .

From 1994 to 1996 Řezáč worked as the head of unit of the consular department of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague and from 1996 to 1999 was first secretary and consul of the embassy of the Czech Republic in The Hague ( Netherlands ). Until 2001, Řezáč was Deputy Director of the Consular Department of the Czech Foreign Ministry.

From 2001 to 2005 Řezáč filled the post of Czech Ambassador to Libya and, after a time as Head of Unit and Deputy Director of the Middle East and Africa Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from 2007 to 2011 the Czech Ambassador in Jakarta , with responsibility for Indonesia (accreditation: 30 January 2007), Brunei (accreditation: April 17, 2007), East Timor (accreditation: March 1, 2007), Papua New Guinea and Singapore .

In 2011, Řezáč returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague and received the post of Director of the Sub-Saharan Africa Department until he was appointed Czech Ambassador to Kenya in 2015 . In 2019, Řezáč switched directly to the post of ambassador in South Africa .
