Pavel Dykmann

Pavel Dykmann (born December 14, 1996 in Moscow ) is a former German gymnast and currently a student at the Technical University of Berlin .

Life

Pavel Dykmann was born on December 14, 1996 in Moscow. At the age of 2, he and his family moved to Potsdam, Germany. He has an older brother.

At the age of 6 he began his gymnastics career in the gymnastics center at what was then the airship port in Potsdam. At the age of 10 he moved to SC Berlin and moved to the sports boarding school in Berlin. He was able to achieve his first regional successes just a few years after moving. So he was able to prevail against the regional competition from Berlin and Brandenburg and at the age of 13 he became Berlin and Brandenburg champions in the all-around for the first time. Pavel took part in national championships from the age of 12.

At the 2007 German Gymnastics Festival , Pavel took part in the German Youth Championships for the first time. In 2010 he reached the 4th place in the all-around competition at the German youth championships and was thus included in the national team. Pavel celebrated his greatest success at the German Youth Championships 2012 in Chemnitz. In addition to his first German youth championship titles on the floor and on bars, he was also able to win silver on the rings and bronze in the all-around and on the bar in the age group 15/16. After a serious knee injury in 2013, he fought his way back and was able to take 3rd place in the all-around competition in his last year in the juniors at the 2014 German youth championships. In 2014 Pavel ended his career as a competitive athlete at the national squad level.

In 2012 Pavel started gymnastics in the German Bundesliga. There he started in the 2nd Bundesliga for TuS Leopoldshöhe in 2012. In the first year he was able to win the 2nd Bundesliga North together with the team. However, the team failed in the promotion finals for promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. In the following year 2013, the TuS Leopoldshöhe team had to disband due to financial problems and Pavel switched to TSG Grünstadt, which was also represented in the 2nd Bundesliga North.

In 2014 and 2015 Pavel did gymnastics at TSG Grünstadt and together with the team took 2nd place in the 2nd Bundesliga North in both years. In 2016 Pavel moved to Hanover for TuS Vinnhorst. In 2016 and 2017, Pavel and his team again took second place in the Bundesliga North. In 2018 he and his team won the 2nd Bundesliga North again for the first time since 2012 and made it to the league finals. The team was defeated by the opponent, but was able to prevail in sudden death and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga due to a special regulation. In 2018 Pavel ended his gymnastics career.

In 2016, Pavel successfully completed his Abitur at the school and competitive sports center in Berlin. Pavel has been studying business informatics at the Technical University of Berlin since 2016.
