Pavilion Press Weimar

The Pavillon-Presse is a printing art museum in Weimar sponsored by the non-profit association Pavillon-Presse Weimar e. V.

The museum is located in the center of Weimar in the listed Scherfgasse at the location of the former newspaper printing company of Panses Verlag , which was founded in the mid-19th century and printed the Allgemeine Thüringische Landeszeitung Deutschland (predecessor of today's Thuringian regional newspaper ) at the beginning of the 20th century . During the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, a registered non-profit association was set up in Scherfgasse to revitalize the former printing plant, which is now known as Pavillon-Presse Weimar e. V. is active.

The museum's collection focuses on printing techniques such as letterpress , gravure and planographic printing as well as typography .
