Peace Support Operation

The term Peace Support Operation ( PSO ) in its most common meaning today denotes military and civil measures to avoid conflicts or to secure or restore peace (in the sense of the absence of violence).

Peace Support Operations contain a multinational component, which means that they are carried out or carried out by several states (e.g. United Nations ).

Peacekeeping operations ( peace-keeping ), peace-building activities ( peacemaking ), peace enforcement ( peace enforcement ) and peacebuilding are subcategories of Peace Support Operations.
