Peep and the Big Wide World is a Canadian - American animated series . It was first broadcast on April 12, 2004 on TVOKids (Canada) and PBS Kids (USA) as well as Children's Independent Television and Tiny Pop (Great Britain) / Nick Jr. (Great Britain).

Viewers follow Peep, Chirp, and Quack as they examine and explore the world around them. After the 9 minute animated segment, there is a 2 minute live action segment where kids explore the same topic and demonstrate what was presented in the animated segment. In animation, bright colors and simple shapes predominate. The show deals with the small and big things that come up in the lives of preschoolers.
Production and publication
The series was created by WGBH-TV, 9 Story Entertainment, TVOntario , and Discovery Kids . Directed by Vadim Kapridov and Rick Marshall, Kapridov also took over the artistic direction. The idea for the series comes from Kaj Pindal. The music was composed by Kaj Pindal and the responsible producer was Marisa Wolsky. A total of 60 episodes of 22 minutes each were created.
The first season was shown from April 12 to May 17, 2004 on PBS, TVOKids, TLC and Discovery Kids. This was followed by five more seasons in 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2011.
