Eckernförde gauge (2020)

The Eckernförde gauge is located in the Eckernförde inland port and measures the water level in the Baltic Sea . It is one of 32 gauges in the Baltic Sea and is operated by the Lübeck Waterways and Shipping Office . The measuring point number is 9610045 ( DGW ). Measured values have been available without gaps since 1921 and are therefore suitable for statistical analyzes. As a level on an inner coast (at the end of Eckernförde Bay ), high water levels are usually higher due to the effect of wind accumulation than at levels on open coastlines.
