Pei Songzhi ( Chinese  裴 松 之 ; * 372 in Yancheng ; † 451 ) was a Chinese historian. He came from what is now Shanxi Province. He later went to the Court of the Former Song Dynasty , where he edited the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms by Chen Shou . He took pains to pinpoint the geographical details of the work and also corrected some historical facts after submitting other reports from that time. He also added a comment to the chronicles . His research made the work a self-contained, somewhat reliable testimony to the time of the Three Kingdoms .
